We tend to think prayer is something very structured. We can sometimes feel that if we don’t pray in a certain way, God won’t hear our prayers. But that is not how God looks at us. According to Ephesians 1:5, God decided in advance to adopt us into His family. It wasn’t a surprise to God that we would have a way to have a relationship with Him. He laid out a plan after the fall of humankind that would allow us to come back to Him. Because we are sons, our Father (God) is eager to listen to our prayers.
Prayer:
God, thank you for choosing to adopt me into your family. Thank you for being the perfect father. Help me to see you with the intimacy of knowing you as my dad. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
