Command those who are rich in this present world not to be arrogant nor to put their hope in wealth, which is so uncertain, but to put their hope in God, who richly provides us with everything for our enjoyment. We sometimes focus on the material things in our lives. We see the things we need in life or the balance in our bank accounts. We can easily get distracted and place our hope in the wrong things. But instead, we need to put our hope in God, knowing that He provides for us. Since God is our hope, we can be generous and willing to share with others. Put your hope in God.

God, thank you for being my hope. Let me be an example for others. Help me to remember that you are my hope. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
