God-Breathed

16 All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, 17 so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work. 2 Timothy 3:16-17 (NIV)

The Bible makes the claim that it is all God-breathed, even though humans are the ones who penned it. All scripture is inspired by God. If it is not accurate, it could not be useful for the teaching, rebuking, correcting, and training in righteousness this verse states. Yes, the writers of the Bible were human, but it came from God. He breathed the words through the writers. He did this to relate to us more. He used humans to speak in human language to portray His words in a sense we all could understand. If you look at how some of the Apostles died, they died horrible deaths. Not once did they recant their words. Look at Peter – he was crucified upside down and still did not say he made anything up that he wrote. If these men were really lying, it is human nature to recant the lie.

Action Steps:

Take some time to learn about the authors of the New Testament. We already did a deep dive into Peter in the last message series, but we encourage you to look into the other authors. Where they came from, what they did, and even how they died.
