Under Authority

26 … Instead, whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant, 27 and whoever wants to be first must be your slave— 28 just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.” Matthew 20:26-28 (NIV)

Christian leaders should go in the opposite direction of the world.  If you want to change the world, be a servant leader rather than leading from authority.

Before we become leaders OF authority, we must first become leaders UNDER authority.

What would it look like if Believers lead through serving?  Regardless of what others are doing-we decide to go God’s way.  What would our children and marriage and finances look like if we led in these areas by serving others as we serve God?  Imagine!  Amazing transformation in these areas is possible over time.

If the cubicle, bedroom, or kitchen table is holy ground- how this could change our world!

The choice is ours:  will we first become leaders UNDER authority?

Will you hold authority loosely and surrender to God?  Will you view yourself as servant under God’s authority?

Jesus knew Romans 6:23a that the wages of sin is death.  Jesus knew we put pride first, we go our own ways.  We all miss the mark of God’s holy standard.  Romans 6:23b affirms that the free gift of God is eternal life to those who believe in Jesus Christ our Lord.  Jesus holds the solution to our sin problem in His nail-pierced hands.

Revelation 20:15 says the unrepentant sinner will be cast into the lake of fire.

Friends, this is an eternal decision.  Will you surrender to Jesus?  Will you ask Him to be the king and commander of your life?

PRAY:
Dear God,
You have the power to help me change the way I lead my family.  I want to surrender to Your Command, and no doubt, I will get in the way with my human nature.  Please help me to come UNDER Your authority for the blessing of my family and our world.  I repent for when I miss Your mark.  I accept the free gift of eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.  I pray in the name of Jesus, Amen.
