Power

8 But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.” 9 After he said this, he was taken up before their very eyes, and a cloud hid him from their sight. Acts 1:8-9 (NIV)

The Holy Spirit is very powerful. He (the Holy Spirit) should not be viewed as the “other one,” and should not be the forgotten part of the Trinity (Father, Son, and Holy Spirit). The Holy Spirit fills us with power and He helps to lead us. It is amazing that through accepting Jesus into our lives, we have the Holy Spirit in us at all times. There was a time where the Holy Spirit wasn’t inside us. During that time in history (Old Testament), only the high priest would enter into the Holy of Holies (located inside of the temple) once a year where God’s spirit dwelled. In the New Testament, the Bible tells us in 1 Corinthians 3:16 that we are the temple of God and the Holy Spirit dwells in us.
