“The days are coming,” declares the LORD, “when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah.” Jeremiah 31:31 (NIV)
In the Old Testament, God established a covenant with the Israelites. Usually, a contract is between two parties. The covenant between God and the Israelites was all based on God’s character to fulfill his promises. The Israelites lived under the old law. But through the blood of Jesus, we now live under the new covenant full of God’s grace, mercy and salvation.
Prayer:
God, thank you for the gift of salvation through the saving blood of Jesus. Thank you for the new covenant that we live under. Thank you for your grace. In Jesus name. Amen.
