7 And when you pray, do not keep on babbling like pagans, for they think they will be heard because of their many words. 8 Do not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask him. Matthew 6:7-8 (NIV)
When you pray, don’t use a lot of meaningless words. Some people will pray to make themselves the center and the most important. God sees that. When we pray it is not to persuade God, it is to talk to Him. Remember, God sees everything and already knows what you need. He wants the real you, not this flowery version that speaks words but doesn’t mean them. He wants you to come to Him and be yourself.
Action Steps:
When you pray this week, pray like you are talking to a friend. Pray like you are talking to a beloved family member. Use less words and more meaning.
