Ask and Keep Asking

9 “So I say to you: Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. 10 For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.  Luke 11:9-10 (NIV)

Jesus urges boldness and persistence when we pray.  He also assures us that God will answer our prayers.  What love and confidence to know that when we talk to God, we are heard, and He responds to us.

Jesus follows these verses in Luke 11 with another example of God’s goodness toward us.  In verse 13, Jesus tells us “If you then, who are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give….”

As earthly parents we want to help our kids as best we can.  If we will give our kids blessings to the best of our limited abilities, how much more will God do for His children according to His unlimited, abundant resources?

What holds you back from coming to your good Father?  What are you holding on to that leaves you believing God won’t come to your aid?  When has an audacious prayer NOT been asked because the faith behind it didn’t think or believe God would do it for you?   Friend, those things are simply untrue.

God loves you and wants to do big things in your life.  Ask Him, Seek Him, Knock at the throne room of heaven.  You have God’s attention, and He can’t wait to show you His mighty work in your life.

LET’S PRAY
Dear God, My Good Father,
You are abundantly generous to Your children.  There are some things I think are small and won’t matter to You, and others that I think are so big even You can’t answer or won’t answer.  I have shorted You and my belief in what You will do in my life.  Please forgive me.  Help me to know You more so I can love and trust You more, God.  Help me to have the confidence to bring every request to You backed by faith that You will answer me in Your time, and according to Your plan and purpose for my life.  I pray in the name of Jesus, Amen.
