The Lost Sheep

“Suppose one of you had a hundred sheep and lost one. Wouldn’t you leave the ninety-nine in the wilderness and go after the lost one until you found it? When found, you can be sure you would put it across your shoulders, rejoicing, and when you got home call in your friends and neighbors, saying, ‘Celebrate with me! I’ve found my lost sheep!’ Count on it—there’s more joy in heaven over one sinner’s rescued life than over ninety-nine good people in no need of rescue.  Luke 15:4-7 (MSG)

Each of us were lost.  We were born into the world with a sin nature that separated us from God.  Jesus left heaven to save a bunch of lost sheep.  He came to save every one of us.  When any lost sheep returns to the fold, there is great celebration and rejoicing.  We can help share the message of God’s salvation with the other lost sheep.

Prayer:
God, thank you for your sacrifice to find this lost sheep.  Use me to share the message of forgiveness and salvation with other lost sheep.  I want to celebrate when they find their way home.  In Jesus name.  Amen.
