Absolute Control

14 Then Deborah said to Barak, “Get ready! This is the day the Lord will give you victory over Sisera, for the Lord is marching ahead of you.”  Judges 4:14(NLT)

God always give us the voice of one person who reminds us God is in control.  They remind us God has made us promises.  Deborah points out twice in one sentence the Lord is control.  When we trust God’s promises, we have what we need to move forward in tough situations.  The voice of the one God gives us reminds us of what we know and we are strengthened by what is true.

We see that in the following verses, God won the victory on the battlefield that day just as He promised.  God caused panic in the enemy and not a single warrior was left alive.  God always keeps His promises.

15 When Barak attacked, the Lord threw Sisera and all his chariots and warriors into a panic. Sisera leaped down from his chariot and escaped on foot. 16 Then Barak chased the chariots and the enemy army all the way to Harosheth-haggoyim, killing all of Sisera’s warriors. Not a single one was left alive.  Judges 4:15-16 (NLT)

What about you?  Do you have a godly voice of reason in your life that helps you when life is sticky?  Even more, are you that person for someone else?  Believers need each other to spur one another on when life is hard.  We need to know the Word so that we can reassure others in times of need.  A strong communication line with God through an active prayer life is vital.  God is our firm foundation.  He has absolute control over life’s outcomes.  We can stand strong for Him against the world when He calls us to.   God will give us victory in the challenges.

Are you like Deborah? Do you trust God completely?  We need to have our own personal faith that trusts God’s plan.  It is not enough to have a reliable friend who believes for us though it certainly helps to have strong Believers supporting us. Even more, it is important to be strong support for others.  We are the reminders to others that God has absolute control and they can trust Him.

Let’s Pray:
Dear God,  Thank You for the reminders that You are for us.  You are in control -sure we have freewill to make our own choices but our days are ultimately in Your plan.  We will have paths to choose, help us to choose wisely.  Thank You for sending the godly voices of reason to help us along.  And Lord, help us to be influential to those around us .  Help us to be godly in our guidance to others in ways that point people to You.  Thank You Loving Father for victory in life’s battles.  In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
