21 And she will have a son, and you are to name him Jesus, for he will save his people from their sins.” Matthew 1:21 (NLT)
One night a young woman and her betrothed fiancé, after traveling a long way for a census, found themselves without a suitable place to stay. Desperate and in labor, they made a place in a stable. That night the Son of God, born of a virgin, was laid in a manger, a feeding trough for animals.
The birth of Jesus fulfilled hundreds of promises and prophecies of God including the ones for naming Jesus and recognizing the work He came to do – saving people from their sins. From birth to death, Jesus’ life was appointed by God for our salvation.
Your life is specifically planned for a purpose by God. He is seeking you. God wants you to spend time with Him – now and into eternity. God loves you. He paid the way for You to be with Him through Jesus. Jesus will save you from your sin.
- How encouraging is it to know God has a plan and purpose for you?
- Where do you find yourself – on your last leg, ready to trust God?
- What holds you back from accepting the salvation Jesus offers?
- If you have accepted the free gift of eternal life and forgiveness of sin, who do you know that needs these words?
